The department is responsible for cooperation with, mobilisation of and funding of aid through multilateral organisations, civil society and industry.

The department has a special responsibility for SDGs 1) No Poverty, 8) Decent Work and Economic Growth, 9) Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, 10) Reduced Inequality, 16) Peace and Justice Strong Institutions and 17) Partnerships to achieve the Goal.

Section for Private Sector and New Partnerships

This section is charged with mobilisation of, partnerships with and funding of aid through industry. In addition, the section is engaged in job creation, decent work, framework conditions and trade. The section is working to achieve SDGs 8) Decent Work and Economic Growth and 17) Partnerships to achieve the Goal.

Section for Governance and Transparency

This section is charged with matters related to taxes, national resource mobilisation and illegal capital flows, anti-corruption, public financial management and political economy. The section supports development of statistics agencies and registries. The section is working to achieve SDG 16 - Peace and Justice Strong Institutions.

Section for Civil Society

This section is charged with matters related to the role and freedom of civil society. It is also involved in support to civil society organisations, as well as support to information work and support to democracy. The section is working to achieve SDGs 16) Peace and Justice Strong Institutions and 17) Partnerships to achieve the Goal.
